JSW111 White Buffalo Cuff

Sterling silver cuff by Navajo silversmith Paul Livingston. The 1” two band cuff has a 2 3/4” repousse pattern encasing a 7/8” x 1 1/4” White Buffalo cabochon. The inside of the cuff is 5 3/4” with a 1” gap.

This is a beautiful stone! White Buffalo is not technically Turquoise at all, but a similar stone that is white with black and brown inclusions that is mined in Nevada. By definition, turquoise contains copper aluminum phosphate, which is what gives it the blue color. The presence of iron will shift the color towards green. White Buffalo is so mild in its composition that it matches any color of wardrobe and can be worn with any style or fashion.

Paul Livingston was born in 1954 and has spent his entire life on the Navajo Church Rock Reservation, where he grew up watching with fascination as his silversmith Uncle crafted raw metal and
stone into beautiful jewelry. Through trial and error and a great deal of help from his Uncle, Paul became an accomplished young jewelry maker. By the time he was twenty-two he was ready
to launch himself full time into silversmithing. Paul Livingston is an acclaimed Navajo silversmith who favors substance in his metal work and high-quality, natural stones in all his settings.
