JSW591 Link Bracelet

Sterling silver link bracelet with five Carico Lake turquoise links, three of which have channel inlay.  The links are slightly graduated in size, with the center link 5/8” x 1 1/8”. The bracelet is 7 1/2” with a toggle closure.

Channel inlay is one of the most intricate techniques of jewelry making.  An inlay base design is made and a rim of silver is soldered around the edges.  Silver partitions are put in to form “boxes” for the cut stones to fit into.  The Zuni Indians are known for their channel inlay jewelry.

The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine got its name from its unique location, in ancient years there was a lake that has since dried, hence "Carico Lake." Mining is very limited these days which makes the supply of this material limited. Due to the great demand for Carico Lake Turquoise, it has become one of the most valuable types of American Turquoise and the investment value of this Turquoise is great.
