Navajo silversmith Alvin Lee is from Shiprock, New Mexico. He is the cousin of Dine silversmith Albert Jake. 

The Pilot Mountain turquoise mine is located in western Nevada. It began as a copper mine but soon it was realized that the turquoise found there was extremely high quality. Pilot Mountain turquoise is known worldwide for its high grade color and quality.
