JSW1000 Turquoise Pendant

Turquoise pendant by Navajo silversmith Elgin Tom. The 1 1/4” x 1 5/8” pendant with a 1/2” bale and a 5/8" x 3/4" Kingman turquoise is encased in sterling silver raindrops.

The Kingman Turquoise Mine is one of the oldest producing Turquoise mines in North America. It was discovered by Native Americans over 1000 years ago. Kingman Turquoise is known for its beautiful blue color and the mine produces many variations of blue turquoise.

Navajo silversmith Elgin Tom was born in Gallup, NM into a family of silversmiths. He learned the art of silverwork by helping his father and grandfather from an early age. Influenced by his grandfather, Elgin hand-makes his own unique intricate stamps to create his jewelry.  He creates his pieces by just letting the design take him to the end result.
